SOLUTION FOCUSED
With data1 indicating that consumers are still seeking affordable indulgence, opting for satisfying, familiar favourites that balance value, comfort and convenience amid financial pressures, this year we concentrated on solidifying our presence as a manufacturer of quality products.
The key was to offer solutions for operators that could influence the way consumers eat when out of home (OOH), alleviating costs all round. We also saw that pizza is a winning menu choice and has increased its share among the top 10 OOH dishes, consistent with the growth seen across QSRs, pubs and restaurants.
The continued efforts of our NPD team – including the Naples Neapolitan Style Doughball – supports this trend and has brought fresh, Italian-inspired improvements to our doughball category. This perfectly complements the Neapolitan Style Bases, Italian Wood-fired Pre-sauced Bases and Traditional Romana within our premium, authentic Italiano Pizza by Pan’Artisan range.
In summer this year we achieved a BRC AA+, a clear demonstration to our customers that high standards are a constant focus, and we had a great end to 2025 with a win at the PAPA Awards. Taking home the Italian Style Food category was a fitting recognition of our team’s daily dedication, skill and attention to detail.

ALL ABOUT PIZZA
Pre-made pizza bases offer a useful, time-saving staple to any operation. They provide consistency with reduced wastage and a good quality, pre-made product is difficult to distinguish from a base made from scratch. Un-topped frozen bases provide the greatest convenience, allowing customisation of toppings and the ability to fulfil dietary requirements. Using pre-made bases allows creativity to flourish – with trending toppings, businesses can focus on their signature pizza style, from breakfast to dessert.
Pan’Artisan is famed for its expertise around dough-based products, with a particular speciality in pizza bases of all variants. From thin and deep to wood-fired and gluten-free, the company’s product range is extensive.
Our team of development chefs undertake regular product testing for performance and versatility, ensuring the requirements of different menu solutions are met, while of course delivering on flavour.
The beauty of pizza lies in its inexhaustible variety of bases and toppings, presenting unlimited creativity and suitability for all menus, for every taste and dietary need. Interesting, unusual toppings inspired by global cuisines or flavour contrasts, such as spicy/sweet combos, offer exciting possibilities too – and let’s not forget that demand for plant-based toppings and vegetarian/vegan alternatives are on the rise.
PREMIUM LEAGUE
As we head into 2026, we will lean into the new foodservice landscape by holding true our brand values of quality, while continuing to bring products to market across our doughball, pizza base and Italiano Pizza by Pan’Artisan categories.
Pizza will appeal to all generations as it is hard to beat as a quick serve, versatile option. Figures from Mintel2 reveal that during 2024, 65% of Brits either dined in or ordered takeaway from pizza and Italian restaurants, with pizza representing a popular, affordable choice. This is reflected in pizza’s predicted market size rise from £6046 million in 2024 to £8542 million by 2029.
In such a competitive market, operators should focus on what makes their pizza stand out from the crowd. Think about wood-fired or stone-baked bases, premium ingredients and flexible toppings tailored to dietary preferences. Create a compelling point of difference with attention to detail, that draws repeat custom. Meal deals can enhance an offer, and by implementing easy ordering systems, you can further address speedy service and convenience.
The latest trends are focused on regional specialities in line with greater demand for the authentic, and we are seeing clear momentum in the UK for artisan and regional style pizzas made with premium ingredients.
Pan’Artisan’s Detroit Style Pizza Base is a great alternative for operators wanting to push the boundaries beyond Neapolitan or Roman-style pizzas, as it offers a great canvas for robust flavours and globally inspired toppings. Once topped and baked, this gives you the classic Detroit-style crust – thick and light, with a caramelised edge on cooking, in a format that works brilliantly for both sharing and single serve. A perfect balance of speed, quality, convenience and profitability.
